Sensing Painting. Works from the Collection of Fondazione CRC is published on the occasion of the exhibition organized by Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea in collaboration with Fondazione CRC, Cuneo. Presented in the courtly spaces of Castello di Rivoli, the exhibition brings together all the works of contemporary art in the Fondazione CRC Collection acquired since 2017. Sensing Painting highlights how painting maintains a fundamental role as an expressive language, especially in the context of the current digital age. With respect to the dematerialization that characterizes a large part of everyday life, the exhibition invites the public to an active and direct encounter with works of art, with an irreplaceable experiential, physical and sensory value. Presenting works produced by 50 artists, the exhibition project underscores the coherence of the CRC Collection. This volume includes texts by Carolyn Christov- Bakargiev, who presides over the Acquisitions Committee, and by the other two members of the Committee, Guido Curto and Chus Martínez, as well as an essay by Marcella Beccaria which introduces the theme. Finally, this catalogue contains new artists’ statements by the participants in the exhibition.
